Voluntary Plan

The Voluntary Plan is an employee-pay-all program which provides quality dental benefits for employees and their families at group rates while not costing employers any additional benefits dollars. The Voluntary Plan is available to employers located in New York State. Listed below are some of the many advantages of offering the Dental Pay Plus Voluntary Dental Plan to your employees:

• REDUCED SICK TIME: About 21 million sick days a year are caused by oral health or dental problems. By endorsing a Voluntary Dental Plan you will be able to reduce the amount of sick time at your company.
   
• IMPROVED EMPLOYEE PERCEPTION: Dental is the second requested employee benefit preceded by health insurance. By offering a dental plan to your employees, their perception of you as a company who is concerned with their needs will be increased dramatically.
   
• QUALITY BENEFITS: There are four different plan designs available. Three of the plans offer full coverage. All of the plans offer 100% coverage for Preventative and Diagnostic services from day one.
   
• FREEDOM OF CHOICE: There are no network providers. Employees and their family members select the dentist of their choice.
   
• SHORT WAITING PERIODS: Certain major services require a waiting period. Waiting periods protect against adverse selection and help keep the costs down for all those insured.
   
• ‘UCR’ REIMBURSEMENT: Claims are reimbursed based upon the Usual, Customary and Reasonable ‘UCR’ cost for similar services in your geographic area.
   
• ADDITIONAL SAVINGS: Through a Section 125 (Cafeteria) Plan, premiums can be paid pre-tax, thereby saving employees an additional 25-30% off the group premiums. Employers also experience savings through reduced FICA costs.
   
• OPTIONAL ORTHODONTIA: An Orthodontia Rider is available. Orthodontia benefits are available for adults as well as children.
